

So I opened a ticket and had them unblock me and switched VMware to NAT mode. Since I was in bridge mode they blocked my network port since I hadn't paid for multiple devices. I was running Linux but had a few apps I needed for my classes that were Windows only, so I installed VMware. There was an extra charge for more than 1 device.

You could pay extra (maybe $50 a term) and get 100mbps. Base fee covered a 10mbps connection for one device. Access to the network was an added fee on top of your boarding costs. Worcester Polytechnic Institute is/(was) a science/technology/engineering focused University (they started adding more humanities after I left to encourage more women to enroll.)
